ArtWorks and Findlay Kitchen Partner to Offer a New Business Development Program Geared Towards Food Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs looking for the perfect ingredient to help turn their passion for food into a viable business have a new resource.

 

ArtWorks in partnership with Findlay Market’s new food business incubator, Findlay Kitchen, is introducing a new business development program called CO.STARTERS: Kitchen Edition. The program will take place at the new Findlay Kitchen and feature a curriculum crafted specifically for food entrepreneurs and offer mentorship and networking opportunities. Applications for the first CO.STARTERS Kitchen Edition class are now open and will be accepted through Tuesday, April 5.

 

“Findlay Kitchen offers food entrepreneurs the resources to start and grow their businesses that would typically be barriers to entry, such as a licensed kitchen facility, commercial-grade equipment, and plenty of storage space,” said Marianne Hamilton, Director of Findlay Kitchen. “By partnering with proven business development programs such as ArtWorks CO.STARTERS, we are able to further support these entrepreneurs from a business standpoint, helping to provide crucial information and guidance for starting, growing and sustaining their endeavors. We are looking for program applicants that are motivated food entrepreneurs who not only want to share their food passions, but are willing to invest themselves in learning the foundational business basics that will help them succeed.”

 

The 12-week business development and training course will use the CO.STARTERS business curriculum model. The ArtWorks CO.STARTERS Kitchen Edition course will include three additional weeks of classes with the added topics such as food regulations, costing and sourcing.

 

“There is a lot of energy and innovation happening in Cincinnati’s food scene.” says Shailah Maynard, ArtWorks Director of Creative Enterprise. “A partnership with Findlay Kitchen was a natural fit for ArtWorks to expand our already established CO.STARTERS program and meet the unique needs of our city’s growing food economy. We are looking forward to seeing the same success that our CO.STARTERS program has had in helping to launch more than 40 local creative businesses.”

Program Dates: May 3- July 19

Class Times: Tuesdays from 6-9 P.M.

Location: Classes will be held at the new Findlay Kitchen, 1719 Elm Street
Course fee: $350. Course fee includes 12-weeks of business training courses and mentorship. 9-week CO.STARTERS curriculum + 3-week Findlay Kitchen curriculum designed specifically for food entrepreneurs.
