Free Legal Advice for Cincinnati-Area Businesses

The Duke Energy Law Department and the U.C. College of Law Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic (ECDC) are partnering to offer free legal advice on Friday, September 9th from 1 – 5p m.

The Pro Bono day takes place at the U.C. College of Law at the corner of Clifton Avenue and Calhoun Street.

In efforts to support local community businesses, attorneys in various practice areas (contracts, business start up, litigation, real estate, tax, labor & employment, environmental, trademarks, copyrights and patents) will be available for 30 minute increments. If you’d like to pre-register, interested entrepreneurs must sign up by Wednesday, September 7th at 4 pm.

Registration can be done online here or by calling Lori Straight at 513 556-0117.

Walk ins are welcome up until 4:15 pm on September 9th.

The Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic also provides ongoing support to small businesses. Below is an excerpt from the website.

At the ECDC, third year law students will obtain “hands on” experience representing local small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs on transactional legal issues critical to their success.  Such services include assistance and counseling on entity selection and formation; regulatory compliance and licensing; trademark and copyright protection; lease review and negotiation; contract preparation, review, and negotiation; as well as any other legal issues confronting a small business.

Those interested in receiving ongoing assistance from U.C. Law students must complete an application. Contact Lew Goldfarb if you have questions at 513.556.0212.
