Gary G.Gaffney
fragments,
bits of idea and image,
float and juxtapose and
accumulate
to small stories
about a cosmos,
dreamed and framed and measured
but always slipping through our
fingers
Gary G. Gaffney was born in New Orleans, LA. He is Professor at the Art
Academy of Cincinnati where he has taught for more than 25 years. He has
exhibited regionally, nationally and internationally and has work in
numerous museum, university, corporate and private collections.
Michael Sharp
Inspired by the torn and distressed posters found on the walls in most
Italian cities, my paintings and prints mimic the exposure to the elements.
The layers underneath will sometimes be exposed through tearing, burning and
washing with water to create a totally unanticipated outcome. As the layers
are recognized, a history begins to reveal itself and the images work
together to form their own story.
