Job Title: Graphic Design Intern
Location: ArtWorks Administrative Office, 20 E. Central Pkwy, Cincinnati, OH 45202
Hours: 20 hours/week
Rate of pay: Unpaid
Reports to: Graphic Designer / Marketing Manager
Start date: Early 2013

Purpose:

The Graphic Design Intern will assist the Marketing and Development team in the creation of materials for upcoming events, programming, and funding initiatives.

Key responsibilities of the Graphic Design Intern include:

  • Assist in the development, design, and implementation of marketing materials, collateral, presentations, signage, etc.
  • Understanding of existent visual identity and ability to apply it to all initiatives.
  • Delivery of all design work on-time and within budgets.
  • Participate in planning and brainstorming meetings for ArtWorks marketing efforts.
  • Support in managing ArtWorks website updates, weekly email newsletter campaigns, and social media graphics.
  • Other design-related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate with possess the following qualifications and/or characteristics:

  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is essential; knowledge of Dreamweaver and other web development tools a plus.
  • Knowledge of print production.
  • Advanced ability in typography and design.
  • Interest in the arts, non-profits and design.
  • Solid communication and listening skills.
  • Respond well to feedback.
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and effectively work as member of the team.
  • Conceptual thinker with the ability to help develop and execute creative and innovative projects.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Able to work collaboratively with and in support of development staff and other ArtWorks team-members.
  • Adhere to the highest ethical standards, intuitive, thoughtful and considerate.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Title: Marketing and Development Intern
Location: ArtWorks Administrative Office, 20 E. Central Pkwy, Cincinnati, OH 45202
Hours: 10-15 hours/week
Rate of pay: Unpaid
Reports to: Development Manager
Start date: Spring 2013

Key responsibilities of the Marketing and Development Intern include:

  • Archiving coverage of ArtWorks projects in local news (print, web, radio and television);
  • Providing content for Twitter and Facebook account and potentially writing for blog;
  • Writing and editing for press releases, newsletters, and collateral pieces;
  • Assisting with the promotion of programs, including representing the organization at special events;
  • Assist with fundraising initiatives, such as direct mail campaigns; develop fundraising materials, grant writing, donor relations,
  • Assisting with administrative tasks, including but not limited to data entry, filing, managing databases, preparing mailings;
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate with possess the following qualifications and/or characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or progress towards a degree in Not for Profit/Arts Administration, Communications, Marketing, Business or related field;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively;
  • Extensive use of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media outlets;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs;
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe InDesign and Photoshop a plus;
  • Ability to work some weekends and evenings as needed;
  • Creativity and imagination
