ArtWorks Awarded "Best Hope for the Future" Honors by CityBeat (Cincinnati, OHIO) March 31, 2004-- As part of CityBeat 's annual "Best of Cincinnati" edition, ArtWorks was honored with the "Best Hope for the Future" award for the Editorial Ink project. Editorial Ink was one of 11 projects during the 2003 ArtWorks Summer Program, and worked in collaboration with the Cincinnati Art Museum. Editorial Ink taught and encouraged local teens to express themselves through editorial writing and editorial cartooning. These Apprentice Artists worked for six weeks at the Cincinnati Art Museum under the guidance of artist Thom Shaw and writers Kathy Y. Wilson and Dean Blase. The students' work was later displayed at the ArtWorks Time Warner Cable Gallery in downtown Cincinnati and also featured in a CityBeat cover story in September 2003.
