In June of 2011, with support from the The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr./U.S. Bank Foundation and mentorship from our friends at Create Here in Chattanooga, ArtWorks launched SpringBoard. It was clear from the beginning that this unique business development program was quickly cultivating a community of entrepreneurs utilizing the expertise and volunteer hours of professionals from local firms. It was also apparent that there was a need for this type of resource. Sixty-four artisans, creatives and aspiring entrepreneurs have been trained in the last twelve months through our 8 week business planning class, mentorship and Round Tables.
Last September, ArtWorks was awarded funds from ArtPlace, a collaboration of eleven of the nation’s top foundations, eight federal agencies including the National Endowment for the Arts, and six of the nation’s largest banks, investing in creative placemaking efforts around the country. This grant was awarded to support SpringBoard and to support the development of a Over-the-Rhine collaborative work space that will be home to classes, round tables, ongoing mentorships and other activities that will help Cincinnati’s creative sector to grow and thrive.
Please join us to celebrate the completion of the space! This is your chance to visit our new space, meet SpringBoard entrepreneurs and celebrate our first year of sparking creative enterprise.
