ArtWorks’s staff is the best in the business! We’re happy to celebrate one of our most dedicated staff members, Francesca Peace!
Francesca, who is our Finance Manager, just recently reached her 10-year anniversary working at ArtWorks. In her role, Francesca processes all day-to-day financial data and is responsible for maintaining personnel records, employee benefits and payroll. She says she’s so grateful to founding director Tamara Harkavy for deciding to hire her in 2011, and we’re so grateful too! We invite you learn more about her below.
What is your favorite thing about working at ArtWorks?
Of course, I love my specific duties and working with such a talented staff. I also feel so fortunate to be a part of an organization that focuses on Youth Employment, while also providing opportunities for Professional Artists to earn a wage and present their talents that improve our local communities.
Do you have a favorite mural or public art installation?
They are all my favorites. However, I have enjoyed seeing Fresh Harvest by Jonathan Queen every day on my way in to the office.
What do you think makes ArtWorks so special?
Our focus on youth employment, which includes an enrichment program that helps our youth gain incredible skills to become successful adults in the workplace, is amazing. Also our Community Engagement process brings folks together that might never had that opportunity. Providing public art for the communities we serve has a positive effect on those living and visiting our neighborhoods.
What else keeps you busy? What else do you do for fun?
My family is a top priority, and I do a lot of traveling to see them. I love getting together with friends. I also love doing floral arranging for any occasion.
Any advice to those who are interested in getting more involved with ArtWorks?
ArtWorks is a great place to get involved with the community, meet some awesome folks and have a good time while doing something you love. Come in with an open mind, be confident in yourself and speak up.
