ArtWorks is delighted to welcome Mary Kay Koehler to the team as our new senior director of Development!
Tell us a little about yourself.
I moved to Cincinnati when I was 10 and am here to stay! One of the first memories I have of downtown is attending a concert at Music Hall with my classmates. I remember looking out the yellow school bus window and being amazed at the Homage to Cincinnatus mural. It’s a good memory I’ve kept all these years and it’s fun to know that ArtWorks worked with the original artist, Richard Haas, to restore it. I have a background in the arts and spent many years studying ballet, and singing opera. My wife and I stay busy trying to keep up with our two young daughters!
What are you most excited for in your new role?
I’m looking forward to learning what about our work excites our supporters and connect that passion to our mission.
What’s your favorite thing about Greater Cincinnati?
Besides the vibrant arts scene, I love all the independent restaurants. I look forward to going back out to eat soon!
What is your favorite ArtWorks’ project?
My favorite project is the Singing Mural by C.F. Payne. It brings back wonderful memories of singing with the Cincinnati Opera Chorus and dancing in the Cincinnati Ballet’s Nutcracker as a young child.
How do you like to get creative?
Currently, I like to get creative by listening to classical music and watching live streaming musical productions.
