ArtWorks is delighted to welcome Sherman Parnell to the team as a new Creative Project Manager!
Tell us a little about yourself.
I live in Florence, Kentucky right across the bridge. I’m a visual artist myself, and I primarily focus on drawing and painting. Nevertheless, I truly enjoy the arts in all mediums and expressions. I’ve found that my passion for the arts has contributed to my learning and growth consistently throughout my life.
What are you most excited for in your new role?
I’m excited to be overseeing so many different projects! Each will come with different challenges, processes, and results. I’m thrilled at the opportunity to be able to meet so many creative people who’ve decided to work on these ambitious projects. I’ll be there providing support in order to help artists focus on just making their best work!
What’s your favorite thing about Greater Cincinnati?
I’d have to say the architecture, I love the look of the city. But there are so many other things that are simply intangible.
What is your favorite ArtWorks’ project?
There are so many great projects, but I’ll be biased and say the New Lines Alleyway series, because of the great experience I had working on it in the summer of 2020. The alleys are looking great!
How do you like to get creative?
I love to draw and paint, whenever I take in new information of any kind, I’m immediately flooded with ideas, most of them end up being pretty bad, and I enjoy trying to gradually make those ideas work.
