Crafting Conversation: Art as Protest Exhibition Opening

January 26 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Please join us for the opening of exhibition “Crafting Conversation: Art as Protest” on Friday, January 26 from 5–7 p.m. in ArtWorks’ V2 Gallery.

Under the guidance of Artist Ciara LeRoy, this exhibition explores the ways in which art, handicraft and activism work together toward positive and sustained change. Through our Gallery Fellowship program, artists ages 16-24 learned key moments in activist art history, acquired a variety of hand lettering skills, and have applied their newfound knowledge of craftivism and hand lettering to create their own distinct language of protest through art.

This event is free and open to the public. Works displayed are for sale, with proceeds going directly to the artists. Additional exhibition viewings may be scheduled by appointment.

Ciara LeRoy is a Cincinnati-based independent artist specializing in hand lettering, illustration, murals, and embroidery. Her work is sometimes silly, fun, and smile-inducing, and sometimes filled with visions of a more just and equitable society. Learn more about Ciara at www.prettystrangedesign.com.
