For 30 years, ArtWorks has proven one powerful truth: when young people are given meaningful work, mentorship, and creative opportunity, they rise. They build confidence, careers, and communities. Today, that truth matters more than ever.

Across the country, public funding for nonprofits is shrinking. Programs that support young people, creativity, and workforce development are being cut or put at risk. ArtWorks is feeling the impact too. To continue serving young artists and strengthening Cincinnati’s future workforce, we urgently need individual donors to step up now.

Why Your Support Matters

At our core ArtWorks is an organization that provides career pathways to Youth. We don’t just inspire young people, we employ them. Youth employment delivers measurable results: real paychecks, real skills, and real experience. Our programs give young artists ages 14 to 24 access to opportunity they may not find anywhere else.

What Is Rising Artists?

Rising Artists directly invests in more than 200 young artists each year through three transformational programs:

  • Youth Apprentice program, pairing youth with professional artists on real public art projects each Summer
  • Gallery Fellowship opportunities that support emerging talent
  • Mural Studio, offering year-round paid employment and skill building

These programs are more than art projects. They prepare Cincinnati’s next generation workforce by teaching teamwork, accountability, communication, and creative problem-solving. They open doors to careers and ensure that young people see a future for themselves right here in our city.

Hear It From Our Artists

Meet ArtWorks Youth Apprentice Ellie Glenn. Last summer, Ellie helped bring the “Numbers and Trees: Cincinnati Cottonwoods” mural by Charles Gaines to life. Ellie shares how working on public art has shaped her confidence, skills, and vision for her future. Her story reflects what thousands of young people have experienced through ArtWorks.

A Proven Path to Success

ArtWorks’ impact lasts a lifetime. Former apprentice Lizzy Klein credits ArtWorks as the foundation of her career. Her first job as a 16-year-old apprentice taught her professionalism, follow-through, and pride in her work. Those lessons carried her to CalArts and into a successful career in animation, working with Disney, DreamWorks, Warner Brothers, and Nickelodeon.

Her story is one of thousands that prove this model works. When you give, you help launch creative careers and strengthen the community they will shape.

Your Gift Builds Cincinnati’s Future

When you donate to ArtWorks, you are making a direct investment in people and place. Over three decades, ArtWorks has employed more than 4,000 youth and 3,500 professional artists, creating over 14,000 public and private art projects across Greater Cincinnati.

Every mural, installation, and apprenticeship reflects access to opportunity, equity, and belief in young potential. Your support fuels job creation, supports working artists, and ensures every community sees itself reflected in the art around them.

Make Your Impact Today

As ArtWorks celebrates 30 years of impact, the need has never been more urgent. With public funding declining nationwide, individual donors are essential to sustaining this work. A gift today ensures that young artists continue to learn, earn, and grow.

A gift of $30, $300, or $3,000, or any amount in between, helps provide paid employment, mentorship, and career direction for Cincinnati’s young creatives.
